Fantastic, Chunky, Vintage Handcrafted and Signed Taxco, Mexican Sterling Silver and Unpolished Teardrop Malachite Split-Side Ring, with Antiquing and Rope Details.
The ring is approximately a size 9, though slightly out of round, so it's possible it could fit just a touch smaller. The face of the ring measures approximately 7/16 of an inch, or about 11.1125 millimeters, high, with the decorated portion measuring about 13/16 of an inch, or about 20.6375 millimeters, wide, projects roughly 1/8 of an inch from the finger. The band narrows to about 1/8 of an inch, or around 3.17 millimeters, wide, in the back. (Included you will see a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The ring is stamped inside, "Mexico", and, "925", and signed, "TD-58". Weight is approximately 3.2 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.
This is a vintage piece, which has been worn and enjoyed. There will be the expected surface scratches and tiny dings in the silver from normal wear. This is a handcrafted ring, and will not be machine-perfect in any way. The band is slightly out of round, visible in the overhead photo, not likely enough so as to affect fit. There is no damage to the stones, other than light surface wear and natural surface imperfections. Hand polished, but there will likely still be areas of missed tarnish, in addition to the patina intentionally kept.
An unusual and striking vintage signed Taxco, Mexican Sterling silver and malachite ring. Great color and interest in the raw stones, wonderful bold size and detailing.
