Beautiful, Simple and Sophisticated, Signed Vintage Sterling Silver and Cap Set White Pearl Pendant Necklace.
No information about the nature or origin of the pearl. It appears to be cultured in freshwater, but that's a guess, not a guarantee.
The pendant measures approximately 11/16 of an inch high, by about 3/8 of an inch, or approximately 9.52 millimeters, wide. The necklace measures about 18 inches long, from end to end, and will fit (closed) at about 17 and 7/8 inches in length. The chain is approximately 3 millimeters, or just under about 1/8 of an inch, wide. (Included you will see a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Stamped, "925", on the spring ring clasp and signed with a stylized, "S", or perhaps, "G" maker's mark. Weight is approximately 3.4 grams, which includes the pearl weight, of course.
This necklace is in excellent vintage condition, but will likely have the expected light surface scratches from normal wear. The chain has no kinks or bends, and the clasp works well and holds securely. No obvious damage to the pearl, but it could have some tiny scratches or bumps, certainly nothing major or noticeable. Hand polished, but it may have missed some tarnish, especially around the pearl, which had to be avoided to prevent damage.
A very pretty, unusual and classy vintage signed Sterling silver and pearl necklace. Pearls are notoriously difficult to photograph, and this one was no exception. It is much lovelier in person.
