Curvy and Beautiful, Nicely Detailed, Vintage Sterling Silver and Amethyst Double Scottish Thistle Pin or Brooch.

   The brooch measures approximately 1 and 11/16 inches high, by just under approximately 1 inch, or about 25 millimeters, wide, and roughly about 3/16 of an inch thick, not including the pinback. (Included there is a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Standard locking pinback. Stamped, "Silver", on the back, unsigned. Discreetly acid tested to confirm solid Sterling. Weight is approximately 5.67 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.

   This brooch is in very nice vintage condition. It will have the expected light surface scratches and likely a few tiny dings to the silver from normal wear. No visible chips or cracks to the stones. Hand polished, but it may need further attention, especially to the crevices, as it was very blackened to begin. The standard locking pin back works fine, and the pin is straight and sharp.
