Beautiful, Highly Polished, Luxuriously and Heavily Crafted, Signed Vintage Sterling Silver Snake or Serpentine Necklace with Spiral Detail Accents.
The necklace measures about 19 and 7/8 inches long, from end to end, and will fit at approximately 19 and 3/4 inches in length (closed). The chain measures just under about 1/8 of an inch, or approximately 3 millimeters, wide, and the spiral/ring accent pieces each measure just under 3/16 of an inch wide, or about 4.5 millimeters wide by just over approximately 1/8 of an inch, or around 3.5 millimeters, high. (Included you'll find a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The necklace is stamped, "925", and signed either, "AIS", or perhaps, "AIA", on the catch ring. Stamped, "925", again on the lobster claw clasp. Weight is approximately 31.2 grams.
This necklace is in excellent vintage condition, with only the expected light surface scratches and normal wear. It has no kinks or bends. The clasp is in good working condition, and holds securely. Hand polished, but there may be more tarnish remaining.
