Gorgeous, Luxuriously Long and Heavy, Vintage Sterling Silver Snake or Serpentine Necklace, in an Unusual Rectangular Design.
The necklace measures about 24 and 1/6 inches long, from end to end, and will fit at approximately 24 inches in length (closed). The wider face of the chain measures just over about 1/8 of an inch, or approximately 3.5 millimeters, wide, and the narrower vertical face of the chain is just under 1/8 of an inch wide, or about 3 millimeters. (Included please find a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The necklace is stamped, "925", on the lobster claw clasp, unsigned. Weight is approximately 25.1 grams.
This necklace is in excellent vintage condition, with only the expected light surface scratches and normal wear. It has no kinks or bends. The clasp is in good working condition, and holds securely. Hand polished, but there may be more tarnish remaining.
A very nicely crafted vintage Sterling silver rectangular serpentine necklace. Great length, weight, and obvious quality that shows when you wear it. Suitable for either a man or a woman.
