Wonderful, Handcrafted, Vintage Southwest Sand Cast Sterling Silver and Sawtooth Set Blue Turquoise Roadrunner Pin or Brooch, with Hand Stamped Detailing.
From the tip of the beak to the tip of the tail, the piece measures approximately 1 and 15/16 inches wide, by just over approximately 1/4 of an inch, or about 22.5 millimeters, high. (Included please find a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The turquoise eye is roughly 3.5 millimeters, or just over about 1/8 of an inch, in diameter. Standard locking pinback. Not marked as to content, nor signed, but discreetly acid tested as Sterling silver. Weight is approximately 4.4 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.
This brooch is in very nice vintage condition. It will have the expected light surface scratches and possibly some tiny dings to the silver from age and normal wear. No damage to the turquoise. Hand polished, but have likely missed some tarnish. The locking pin back works well, and the pin is straight and sharp. This is a handcrafted piece which will not be machine-perfect in any sense.
