Beautiful, Detailed, Jaunty and Animated, Vintage Solid 14K Yellow Gold Fancy Openwork Butterfly Stick Pin.
The entire piece, without the cap, measures approximately 1 and 1/8 inches high. The butterfly portion alone measures just over about 5/8 of an inch or approximately 16 millimeters, high and wide, and just over approximately 1/16 of an inch, or about 1.75 millimeters, thick. (Included you will find a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Stamped faintly, "14K", on the upper rear edge of the wing. Also very discreetly acid tested as solid 14K gold. Weight is approximately 1.01 grams.
This piece is in very nice vintage condition, though it will have the expected light surface scratches and possibly tiny dings to the gold from normal wear. The pin itself if straight and sharp. The cap included is probably an earring clutch the previous owner used as a replacement. It holds well, but you may wish to replace it. Given only a light hand cleaning, it has not been professionally polished. There is a very discreet acid test mark on the back edge.
