Lovely, Whimsical and Colorful, Handcrafted, Artisan Signed and Numbered, Vintage Sterling Silver Mixed Metals and Enamel Abstract Modern Pin or Brooch.
The brooch measures just over approximately 1 and 5/16 inches high, by just under about 1 and 1/4 inches wide, and just over roughly 1/16 of an inch, or about 2 millimeters, deep, not including the pinback. (Included you will see a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The brooch is not marked as to content, but the main body acid tested as solid Sterling silver. The gold metal may be brass or yellow gold, but can't be tested without risking damage. The brooch is marked as limited edition number, "41/75", on the back, titled, "The Arc", and hand signed, "Nell". Weight is approximately 9.7 grams, which includes the enamel weight, of course.
This brooch is in very good vintage condition, but will have the expected surface scratches and tiny dings to the silver, from normal wear. The upper right corner either has a slight bend or was intentionally made with imperfect planes. No visible damage to the enamel. Hand polished, but there is likely be more tarnish remaining. The standard locking pinback secures as intended, and the pin remains straight and sharp. There is an acid test mark on the back of the brooch which can be completely removed with further polishing, if you choose to do so. This is a handcrafted item which will not be machine-perfect in any way.
A very charming and delightful, nicely handcrafted and signed vintage limited edition Sterling silver mixed metals and enamel brooch. Beautiful use of color, with an infectious sense of joy and whimsy.
