Beautiful, Unusual, Handcrafted Vintage Sterling Silver and Vivid Blue Lapis Lazuli Cabochon Necklace, with a Fancy Chain and Southwest Rope Detailing.
The necklace measures about 15 and 1/8 inches long, from end to end, and will fit at about 15 inches long, fastened. The chain portion is approximately 4.5 millimeters, or just under about 3/16 of an inch, wide. (Included you will see a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Each setting measures about 7/16 of an inch, or about 11.1125 millimeters, high, by approximately 5/8 of an inch, or about 15.87 millimeters, wide. The center drop measures just over approximately 1 inch, or about 2.5 millimeters, high. The necklace is stamped, "925", on the back of each setting, stamped, "925", again on the lobster claw clasp, and has been discreetly acid tested as solid Sterling silver, as well. The piece is unsigned. Weight is approximately 24.14 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.
This necklace is in good vintage condition, with no kinks or bends in the chain. There will be the expected surface scratches and possibly tiny dings to the silver from normal wear. The stones have a few natural surface irregularities and inclusions but no chips or cracks visible in them. This is a handcrafted item, and it will not be machine-perfect in any way. Hand polished, but it may need further attention, especially around the rope details. The lobster claw clasp works well and holds securely.
A very pretty vintage artisan Sterling silver and Lapis lazuli drop style necklace. Lots of brilliant color and interest in the stones. An unusual, standout design with wonderful attention to detail.
