Gorgeous, Sophisticated, Nicely Crafted and Signed Vintage 14K Solid Yellow Gold Invisible Set Princess Cut Emerald and Round Brilliant Diamond Tiered Design Stud Pierced Earrings.
Each earring face measures just over approximately 1/2 of an inch, or about 13 millimeters, square and approximately 3/16 of an inch, or approximately 4.7625 millimeters, thick. (The diagonal measurement is the same, high and wide.) Though perfectly accurate measurement of a set stone is nearly impossible, each of the 32 diamonds is approximately 1/16 of an inch, or about 1.585 millimeters, in diameter, for an estimated total carat weight of roughly .96 carats of diamonds. Each of the 8 emeralds is just over approximately 1/16 of an inch, or about 2 millimeters, in diameter, for an estimated total carat weight of roughly .96 carats of emeralds.(Included please find a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The back of each earring is stamped, "14K", and signed, "ADL". Each post is also stamped, "14K", and signed, "ADL". The clutches are each stamped, "585/14K and signed with an infinity symbol maker's mark. Also, these earrings were discreetly acid tested and confirmed to be solid 14K gold. The diamonds were tested with a Mizar DiamondNite. Combined weight is approximately 2.9 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.
These are vintage earrings, which have been worn and enjoyed. They will have all of the expected surface scratches and tiny dings to the gold, from normal wear. Neither post is perfectly straight, but both are in wearable condition. There are a few chipped emeralds, visible under a 10X loupe, but not readily visible to the naked eye, and all are firm in their settings. No damaged diamonds. The clutches both hold securely. Hand cleaned, but they have not been professionally polished.
