Long, Dramatic, Gorgeous, Vintage Hand-Knotted 14K Solid Yellow Gold Faceted Mirror Ball and Round Black Onyx Beaded Strand Necklace, circa 1960's-1970's.

    The necklace measures approximately 33 5/8 inches long, from end to end, and should fit at about 33 and 1/4 inches long, closed. The yellow gold beads measure just under about 5/16 of an inch, or approximately 7.5 millimeters wide and the black onyx beads measure just under about 7/16 of an inch, or approximately 11 millimeters, wide. (Included please find a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Stamped, "14K", on the tongue of the box clasp, unsigned. Also discreetly acid tested as solid 14K. The clasp is a solidly made pushbutton style box clasp with a safety catch. Weight is approximately 97.4 grams, which includes largely the black onyx weight, of course.

   This necklace is in excellent vintage condition. It may have a few of the expected light surface scratches and possibly tiny dings to the gold from normal wear, though no dings or dents found. No visible damage to the onyx beads. The stringing appears to be in good condition, with a bit of wear. The pushbutton box clasp works well and holds securely, as does the safety catch. Lightly cleaned by hand across the entire strand, but it's always possible that some soiling remains.

   A very striking, classy and luxurious vintage 14K yellow gold and black onyx beaded strand necklace. Rich depth of color and contrast, with the sparkle of mirror-ball cut gold. Enough length to wear many ways. A super-stylish and versatile piece.
