Large, Very Unusual, Handcrafted and Signed Vintage Brushed Sterling Silver Abstract Modernist Cutout Bird's Head Clip-On Earrings.
Each earring face measures approximately 3/4 of an inch, or about 19.05 millimeters wide, by approximately1 and 3/16 inches wide, and just under approximately 1/8 of an inch, or about 3 millimeters, deep. (Included you will find a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Stamped on the back of each earring, "Sterling", and signed with a maker's mark of the letters P and J in the shape of a V. Combined weight is approximately 6.49 grams.
These are vintage earrings, which have been worn and enjoyed. They will have the expected scrapes, surface scratches and possibly a few tiny dings to the silver from age and normal wear. No visible dents, dings, or creases of any note. These are handcrafted and will not be perfectly symmetrical, nor machine-perfect in any other sense. The clips hold securely without being overly tight and the hinges function well. Hand polished, but they probably need a bit more attention, especially on the backs, as they were completely black with heavy tarnish to start.
