Large, Lovely, Highly Detailed Vintage Sterling Silver and Azurite Malachite Pin or Brooch, depicting Children holding hands around the Earth.

   The brooch measures just over approximately 1 and 1/2 inches, or about 38.5 millimeters, in diameter, by about 1/4 of an inch, or approximately 6.35 millimeters, thick, not including the pinback. The stone setting measures just over approximately 3/4 of an inch, or about 19.5 millimeters, in diameter. (Included there is a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Standard locking pinback. No clear marks as to content, nor a signature, but acid testing confirms solid Sterling silver. Weight is approximately 10.03 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.

  This brooch is in very nice (newer) vintage condition. It will likely have the expected light surface scratches and there could be a few tiny dings to the silver from normal wear. No visible damage to the stone, no bends or dents to the silver. Hand polished, but it may need further attention, especially to the crevices and around the rim of the setting. There is a small acid test mark on the back of the pin. The locking pin back works as intended, and the pin is straight and remains sharp.

   A very striking vintage Sterling silver & azurite malachite brooch. Lots of wonderful detail in a great size. A beautiful, meaningful, and charming piece.
