Large, Beautiful and Whimsical Vintage Handcrafted and Signed Sterling Silver, Lapis Lazuli, Tiger's Eye and Onyx Dimensional Flying Kite Pin or Brooch, by Great Falls Metalworks of New Jersey.
The brooch measures just over approximately 2 and 7/16 inches high, by just under approximately 15/16 of an inch wide at the kite, and about 1 and 3/8 inches wide with the tail included, by just over about 1/8 of an inch deep, not including the pinback. (Included you'll see a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Standard locking pinback. Stamped, "Sterling", on the back, and signed, "GFMW". Weight is approximately 5.9 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.
This brooch is in very nice vintage condition. It will have the expected surface scratches and possibly tiny dings to the silver from normal wear. No visible damage to the stone inlay. I Hand polished, but it may need further attention, especially to the tail. The pin back works properly, and the pin is straight and sharp. This is a handcrafted item, and it will not be perfectly symmetrical, nor machine-perfect in any other sense.
A fun, colorful, nicely handmade vintage Great Falls Metalworks Sterling silver multi-gem kite brooch. Very unusual and pretty, this will be noticed.
