Large, Sparkly and Beautiful, Detailed Vintage Sterling Silver, Black Onyx, and Marcasite Double Flower Pin or Brooch.
The brooch measures approximately 1 and 5/16 inches high and wide, by just over about 1/4 of an inch, or approximately 6.5 millimeters, thick, not including the pinback. (Included is a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Standard locking pinback. Stamped, "925", on the back, and signed with an, "A", maker's mark. Weight is approximately 8.5 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.
This brooch is in very nice vintage condition. It will have the expected light surface scratches and tiny dings to the silver from normal wear. No missing marcasites. There is a bit of excess glue around the onyx setting, visible in the closeup photos, but no so much to the eye. Hand polished, but it may need further attention, especially to the crevices. The pin back works fine, and the pin is relatively straight and sharp.
A very lovely vintage Sterling silver, cabochon black onyx, and marcasites flower brooch. Tons of style and detail.
