Large, Unusual, Richly Colored Vintage Purple Stained Glass Dangle Earrings, with Sterling Silver Hooks. The glass appears to be similar to that found in a decorative stained glass window design, and goes from purple to lavender when light passes through.
Each earring measures just under approximately 1 and 1/2 inches high, from the top of the hook to the bottom of the drop, by just over about 3/4 of an inch, or approximately 19 millimeters, wide, and just over about 5/16 of an inch, or approximately 8 millimeters, thick. (Included is a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Marked, "925", on both hooks, unsigned. Combined weight is approximately 10.77 grams, which includes mainly glass weight, of course.
These are vintage earrings, which have been worn and enjoyed. They will have the expected surface scratches from normal wear. The glass has bubbles and ripples, but no chips or cracks. The hooks look pretty straight, but not perfectly so. Hand polished, but may have missed tarnish, and the metal settings which hold the glass are not silver, so they will remain gray.
