Big, Beautiful, Sparkly, Detailed, Signed Vintage Sterling Silver and Marcasite Turtle Ring. The head of the turtle is set into a slot, so that it can move subtly from side to side.
The ring is approximately a size 8. The central face of the ring, with the turtle, measures just over approximately 1 inch, or about 25.5 millimeters, high, by just over about 5/8 of an inch, or about 16 millimeters, wide, and projects roughly 5/16 of an inch from the finger. The band measures just under approximately 1/8 of an inch, or about 3 millimeters wide. (Included you'll see a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The ring is not legibly marked as to content, though discreetly acid tests as Sterling silver, and it is signed with what appears to be an, "MA", makers mark. Weight is approximately 4.8 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.
This is a vintage piece, which has been worn and enjoyed. There will be the expected surface scratches and tiny dings in the silver from normal wear. The ring band is still pretty much round and true, though not perfect. One marcasite on the turtles back has a chip. Hand polished, but there is more tarnish to remove, if you choose.
