Large, Beautiful, Vintage Handcrafted and Signed Laton Taxco, Mexican Sterling Silver Delicately Curving Dimensional Calla Lily Pin or Brooch, with Burnished Brass Stamen.
The brooch measures just over approximately 1 and 5/16 inches high, by just over about 5/8 of an inch, or approximately 16 millimeters, wide, and just under about 3/4 of an inch, or roughly 19 millimeters, deep. (Included is a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Standard locking pinback. Stamped on the back, "Mexico 925", and signed, "Laton", along with the "TM-199" maker's silver mark. Weight is approximately 7.9 grams, which includes the brass weight, of course.
This brooch is in very good vintage condition, though it will have the expected surface scratches and tiny dings to the silver from age and normal wear. No notable dents nor any creases. Hand polished, but it may need further attention, as it was very heavily tarnished to start. The locking pin back works, though is a tiny bit balky to get started, and the pin itself is straight and sharp.
A very lovely, sensuously curvy, vintage Laton Sterling silver and brass calla lily brooch. Large but feminine, an eye-catching piece of jewelry.
