    Fantastic, Unusual Vintage Mid-Century Modernist Sterling Silver and Patterned Stone Screwback Earrings. The stones appear to be some type of Agate or Jasper, perhaps. These earrings are not signed, but came to in a lot with several Maxwell Chayat items, and they have a markedly similar look and feel.

   Each earring face measures approximately 1 and 1/16 inches or about 29.9 millimeters, high, by just under about 5/8 of an inch, or about 15.5 millimeters, wide, and 3/8 of an inch deep, not including the screwbacks. (Included please find a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The back of each earring is stamped, "Sterling", unsigned. Combined weight is approximately 11.9 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.

   These are older earrings, which have been worn and enjoyed. They will have the expected light surface scratches and possibly tiny dings to the silver. No visible chips or cracks to the stones. The screwbacks move freely and close securely. Hand polished, but there may be further tarnish to remove, if you choose.

   A very impressive pair of vintage Sterling silver Mid-Century Modern earrings. A great addition to your collection. Strikingly bold Brutalist design.
