Fabulous, Large, Handcrafted and Signed Vintage Taxco, Mexican Sterling Silver Modernist Carved Southwest Crooked Arrow Pin or Brooch.
The piece measures approximately 2 and 5/8 inches wide, by just over about 3/4 of an inch, or approximately 19.5 millimeters, high. The face of the brooch is just over approximately 1/16 of an inch, or about 2 millimeters, thick. Standard rollover locking pinback. (Included is a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The brooch is stamped, "Mexico 925", on the back, and signed, "TS-79". There appears to be another partial stamp as well, which may be an eagle mark, though it is not legible. Weight is approximately 8.77 grams.
This pin is in very good vintage condition, but will have the expected light surface scratches and probably a few tiny dings to the silver, from normal wear. No dents, bends, or creases visible. The pin remains straight and sharp. Hand polished carefully, trying to maintain the patina, but removed more from the carved design than intended and left some tarnish here and there. This is a handmade piece, and it will not be machine-perfect in any way.
A fun, unusual, super-stylish, signed vintage Taxco, Mexican Sterling silver modern Southwest carved arrow brooch. Bold in size, with lots of fantastic detailing. A great collectible artisan piece.
