Large, Beautiful, Nicely Crafted and Signed Vintage Solid 14K Yellow Gold Cutout Greek Key Detailed Cabochon Black Onyx Ring.
The ring is approximately a size 7.5, but easily sizeable by your jeweler. The face of the ring measures just over approximately 13/16 of an inch, or about 21 millimeters in diameter, and projects about 3/8 of an inch, or approximately 9.52 millimeters, from the finger. The stone alone is approximately 9/16 of an inch, or about 14.2875 millimeters, in diameter, for an estimated carat weight of about 5 carats. The band measures just under about 1/8 of an inch, or around 3 millimeters, wide at it's narrowest point. (I have included a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The ring is stamped, "585", inside the band, and signed with what appears to be a pictorial maker's mark. Also discreetly acid tested as solid 14K gold. Weight is approximately 5.33 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.
This is an older vintage ring, which has been worn and enjoyed. There will be the expected light surface scratches and tiny dings to the gold from normal wear. No chips or cracks to the stone. The ring band remains round and true. This has been given a basic cleaning, but it has not been professionally polished. There is a very discreet acid test mark on the lower edge of the band.
