Gorgeous, Boldly Sized But Delicate and Feminine, Vintage Art Deco Style Sterling Silver and Emerald Cut Blue Topaz Marcasite Accented Ring.
The ring is approximately a size 8.5 to a 9, very hard to size with perfect accuracy due to the depth of the setting. The face of the ring measures just over approximately 1 and 3/8 inches, or about 35 millimeters, high, by about 13/16 of an inch, or approximately 20.6375 millimeters, wide, and projects just over roughly 1/4 of an inch, or approximately 6.5 millimeters, from the finger. The narrowest portion of the band measures approximately 1/8 of an inch, or about 3.17 millimeters, wide. (Included is a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Stamped inside the band, "925", unsigned. Weight is approximately 8.24 grams, which includes the stone weight, of course.
This is a vintage piece, which has been worn and enjoyed. There will be the expected light surface scratches and probably a few tiny dings to the silver from normal wear. The band is still pretty much round and true, though not perfect. There is one missing marcasite, visible in the photos. There is a tiny corner edge chip to the topaz under a prong. The blue topaz rattles a bit in the setting when not on the finger, but seems very stable in the setting and not in danger of falling out. Hand polished, but there will still be areas of missed tarnish, in addition to the desirable patina intentionally avoided.
A striking, detailed and romantic vintage Deco-style Sterling silver, blue topaz and marcasite cutout ring. Bold profile, with lovely color and delicate styling.
