Big and Beautiful, Heavily Crafted, Signed Vintage Charles Albert Sterling Silver and Abalone Daisy Flower Pendant.
The pendant measures just over approximately 2 and 3/16 inches high, including the bale, by just over about 1 and 9/16 inches wide, and roughly 1/4 of an inch deep. The abalone setting measures approximately 1/2 of an inch, or about 12.7 millimeters, in diameter. The bale opening is just under about 3/16 of an inch, or approximately 4.7 millimeters, wide. (Included is a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) The pendant is stamped inside the bale, "Fine Sterling Silver", and signed, "Charles Albert". I did my best to photograph the marks, but they are in an extremely awkward area. Weight is approximately 11.4 grams, which includes the abalone weight, of course.
This pendant is in very good (newer) vintage condition, but will have a few of the expected light surface scratches and possibly a few tiny dings to the silver, from normal wear. No large dings, no creases or bends. The abalone appears undamaged. Hand polished, but there is more tarnish remaining inside the bale and perhaps also within crevices.
An outstanding, very lovely, vintage Charles Albert Sterling silver and abalone flower pendant. Unusual play of color in the abalone, substantial size and weight, while remarkably feminine and pretty. This piece seems to exude sunny personality and happiness.
