Very Lovely, Finely Crafted and Signed Vintage Barton Ballou Solid 14K Yellow Gold Milled Finish Oval Cufflinks.
The oval face of each link measures just over approximately 1/2 of an inch, or about 13 millimeters, high, by about 13/16 of an inch, or approximately 20.6375 millimeters, wide, and just over approximately 1/16 of an inch, or about 2 millimeters, thick. The entirety of each link from front to back, is about 3/4 of an inch, or about 19.05 millimeters. (Included please find a US Quarter in the photographs, for the measurement-challenged and ruler-averse.) Stamped on the interior of both arms, "14K", and signed with the "B.A.B" Ballou maker's mark. Also discreetly acid tested as solid 14K gold. Combined weight is approximately 9.27 grams.
These are vintage cufflinks, which have been worn and enjoyed. They will have the expected light surface scratches and probably a few dings to the gold from normal wear. No dents or dings worth noting. The one characteristic of note is that one link has the arm attached at the opposite angle from the other, visible in the photos. Price adjusted accordingly, though unsure this will affect wear. The arms are straight, and the hinges work well, with one being slightly looser than the other. There is a very discreet acid test mark on the back of one link. Lightly cleaned by hand, but they have not been professionally polished.
A very handsome, nicely and heavily made pair of signed vintage Ballou 14K yellow gold cufflinks. *One face is attached at the back in the opposite direction from the other, as noted in the condition report, lowering the price and making this sale "AS IS", with no returns.
